NYC Mayoral Candidate Seeks to Abet Child Molesters
NYC mayoral candidate Christine Quinn suggests that she would, as mayor, consider expanding distribution of "morning-after pills" to girls as young as 11.
Ms. Quinn previously stated support for making available the Plan B pills to high school girls in a pilot in-school distribution program started by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s administration in 2012. Expanding that program to middle school girls is the next step, she said.
“I think that it may become a reality,” she said in the Post article. “If that is what the data shows us would be most helpful, that is what we’ll do.”What is "most helpful"? What is the rate of pregnancy among middle-school girls that this is even being brought up? If it happens at all, we've got bigger problems than limited access to powerful hormones; namely, an epidemic of child molestation.
Have any long-term studies shown what the possible long-term effects are of introducing massive amounts of hormones into a pubescent girl's body? Since this is a proposed in-school program, will parents have any say in this? Would law enforcement be involved in finding the man responsible, or is this simply a way of "taking care of the problem"?
